hi, I’m EO

Death has brought me closer to the love inside of me and all around me *

I’m grateful for my bright and healed ancestors: thank you for helping me to know that I am never alone. I lift up my great-grandmother Fannie Mendelsohn and my great-grandfather Joseph Apolinsky: thank you for guiding me, holding me, and weaving with me. May your memories be a blessing.

Coming home to my Jewishness and my queerness has led me to Death’s doorstep. By cultivating connection with my Jewish ancestors, they have opened the portal for me to receive and learn more about Jewish death technologies which now serve as a grounding cord for my death magick.

I am inside of a queer, trans body. This means that I will be a queer, trans corpse. In Jewish communities there are teams of people who sit with dead bodies until they are buried as a form of protection and care. Who is going to protect my queer, trans body when I die? Who will tend to my corpse with love? Who will make sure that my transness is honored and not erased?

The funeral industry is not a safe space for queer bodies. QDC exists so we can take matters into our own hands: Queer hands on queer bodies. From our dying breaths until we return to the Earth. May it be so.
